Academic and Professional Background

Heike Wiesner is professor of Informatics and Knowledge Management. She completed her Diploma at the University of Bremen followed by research projects at the centre of women’s studies (University of Bremen) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She was awarded a doctoral grant by the University of Bremen and completed her doctoral degree in the area of science, technology and gender studies. She also worked at the University of Kiel Centre for Interdisciplinary Research on Women and Gender (ZiF) and the University of Applied Science in Wilhelmshaven. From 2006 until 2009 she has been a visiting professor of Knowledge Management, eLearning and Gender Studies at the Berlin School of Economics and Law. Since Winter 2009 she has been professor of Business Information and Communication Systems at the Berlin School of Economics and Law.
